Well no shit, if you’ve read the source material and know how the story is supposed to go then obviously you aren’t gonna be impressed with something that basically goes against the message of the book (that you shouldn’t blindly follow these “chosen ones” because they won’t really have your best interests at heart)

@@YodaOnABender i was saying because even David lynch hated the final result for how much the studio force him to change a lot of stuff to the point he went for the Alan Smithee credit.

Because it has never happened in the book. This ending is made up bs from Lynch that goes against of ideas from the original novel. Paul did not bring peace he created a war that killed more than 60 billion people. He has no power to make rain on Dune or kill people using voice. Moreover a rain on Arrakis will kill worms and stop spice production.

And also after wiping out the Shady Sands as part of Vault-Tec's Golden Path

This is the worst movie ive ever seen and completely misinterpreted the books

@@user-bk9rl2uf4f well at least is still a movie, since everyone says that the new one is more actuate to the book, i understand that the writer of the book was mediocre and Lynch turn his work in a piece of art compared with the lack of imagination the writer had.. the new movie is puke at all levels, unless you are a fan of Twilight and u have fantasies with your own mother (as the new movie implies)

​@@flintb5291this movie is just so awkward to watch and just does not make any sense to watch with over the top special effects and is extremely rushed the new Dune movies cover the story in 5 hours total this is only 2 hours and 17 min

@@flintb5291Frank Herbert is widely recognized as a historic iconic science fiction writer and is not considered a bad writer at all. David Lynch disowned this movie and was horribly embarrassed by it given how bad it was. I guess you can like it.

Explain how mate because everything about this ending is the complete opposite of what Frank Herbert was saying with his books. Paul ISN’T the chosen one, because the lisan al gaib is a lie made up by the benne geserit to control the fremen through faith by making their religion for them so it suits their own needs. The movie completely misses all that and therefore misses the whole point of Dune and just has a generic lazy utopia ending we’ve seen a million times before

​@@YodaOnABender Ok, so lets look at The Matrix from 1999: Neo is the equivalent of Paul, Morpheus is pretty much Stilgar(believes in the prophecy of "the One"), Trinity is Chani, and the Machines are the oppressors AKA the Harkonnens. The story is structured in very much the same way: The Unlikely hero realizes he is destined to save a people. Now, here's the thing; in The Matrix(1999) they have an incredible buildup of action with that scene of Morpheus's rescue with the helicopter, and that scene makes the movie because that's when you realize that Neo IS the one. Like, it just happens after Neo performs a great feat. It's a plot device called complication: Morpheos needs to be rescued, its a suicide mission, Neo goes against all odds, he succeeds and boom, he IS the one. Where is that in Dune part 2? where is the buildup? Feyd is winning after replacing Raban? In the first movie and the miniseries from 2000, they did this in a different way: The enemies find out, to their surprise, that Paul is the Muadib. The buildup was topped by that moment, when they realize who their enemy is. Where is that in Dune part 2? Also when he takes the water of life, that scene is so lame. The device plot in Dune 2 was "I am not the Messiah, I don't wanna go where the other Fremen are" and it felt so cheap in the way it was presented. On top of that, Chani is an insufferable character that refuses to acknowledge Paul as a savior, but sleeps with him... You know what, Good thing that Paul ditches her for Irulan and Chani goes back riding a worm with her fist-shaped-angry-mug. I dont care about faithfulness to the original material, every director can take liberties. Dune part 2 looks incredible, but its a mess when it comes to storytelling. Its not the first time Denis Villeneuve fails a storyteller, Blade Runner 2049 was also a letdown.

@@diegoyotta mate Chani refuses to accept Paul as the saviour because he ISN’T THE SAVIOUR! Did you even pay attention to the movie? Obviously not. The Lisan al Gaib is a STORY. It’s a fake prophecy taught to the fremen as a way to control them through faith.

@@YodaOnABender Yes, and I said I don't care about that. I said, Dune part 2 has poor storytelling. Also, I think that in the book he did have the power to see all possible outcomes, and he knew he brought bring death to billions, but he was the Kwisatz Haderach and did have the powers, so Chani is just stupid to ignore the very obvious. They should have done this: Feyd captures Chani or Stilgarm Paul is unsure of his path. So he takes the water of life hoping it would help him rescue Chani. He wakes up, and feels nothing. He still goes to her rescue, and then his powers manifest

Zack Snyder: this guy ubderstand me. Gods deserve respect! In my dune Paul would have beeig the messiah too with slow mo and lens flares in the back ground.

@@Ddon98801 I never watched this movie in its entirety and I only remember bits and pieces of that, but what I do know it in the recent films, Paul does become Fremen.
